St Lucia – The Old House Is Gone

This New York electro guru delivers a wicked start to his self-titled ep. Using influences from Fleetwood Mac to Toto, St Lucia is about to hit the bigtime. Catch him at Parklife! RG

Future Islands – Balance

Suggested in our interview by Phoebe from Alpine. Love it. RG

Band of Horses – Electric Music

New LP! Class band and the album is something to write home about. This is my fave thus far. Upbeat, fun, harmonies, solid riffs! Typical BOH. MZ

The Presets – Fast Seconds

Nothing much has stood out for me off this album, however fast seconds has glimpses of their former years. New direction maybe? Not sure but not really dance floor mayhem as was Apocalypso. MZ

Alt-J – Tesselate

These guys have kept me encapsulated for the last 6 weeks. The whole record, start to finish is mental. Love it when he comes in for the second verse with ‘3 guns.. and 1 goes off’. Such a cool song. RG

Two Door Cinema Club – Next Year

Having seen them recently acoustically as apart of Berlin music week, the Irish lads opened their set with this and fittingly doing so, as its the opening number off their new LP Beacon. The masters of the indie pop addictive tracks, this tune hasn’t disappointed either. MZ

Menomena – Skintercourse

The uniqueness of Menomena always has them producing quality tracks. Skintercourse is one of them! MZ

Grizzly Bear – Yet Again

Second single from new Grizzly Bear record ‘Shields’. It’s been a long time coming from these guys, but it’s finally here. See you at Harvest 2012. RG

The Killers – The Way It Was

Great anticipation for this album and this track puts forth a classic Killers feel. Heavy lyrics by Brendan Flowers, massive crescendos and solid chorus. Seeing the killers at Berlin music week I get a feel of The Killers of old. If you get your hands on the deluxe edition listen to the flesh and bone remix as well. MZ

Mystery Jets – Someone Purer

This song is such a builder. He nails that high note of the first chorus and from there you just have to max out the speakers. Great single from an amazing album by these guys. Grab ‘Radlands’, mental from start to finish. RG

Ghostpoet – Liines

Although he’s been around a little while, this track caught my attention during the week of music in Berlin! Liines and Liines and Liines! MZ

The Royal Concept – Gimme Twice

The obvious just has to be said. Every element of this song sounds like Phoenix, and more specifically could have slotted directly in ‘Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix’ with no questions asked. That fact certainly does not stop it from being awesomely fun and catchy, as is the rest of their EP. RG
