Kings of Leon have just revealed that they’re releasing the first single ‘Radioactive’ off their fifth album on the 11th of October. Having given a date for the release of their first single the band have also released the tracklisting for Come Around Sundown which consists of the following:

The Bigsound conference is coming to Brisbane!

Bigsound is the fastest-growing, most-respected meeting of musical-business-types in Asia Pacific. The top minds in the creative industry will be divulging the secrets of their success in an exciting bonanza of world-class panels, workshops and discussion groups… But who really cares?! Not me!

What has got me losing my mind-marbles, however, is the fact that Bigsound conference is teamed with a spectacular Bigsound live music showcase!

The showcase is set to be phenomenal, featuring 60 individual acts including some big names and a collection of exiting up-and-comers from all around Australia!

It isn’t in regular festival-type format either. Oh no… The event is being staged over two nights (Wed 8th & Thurs 9th, September) at a mass of different venues all over Fortitude Valley. Well, six different venues… suppose it isn’t really ‘a mass’ (can you tell I’m excited?)

$27.50 dollars gets you a one night pass (30 bands) and $44 dollars gets you two (60 bands, oh the value!) Patrons take their paper ticket and swap it for a magical wrist-band* that allows them to run around in and out of all the venues to their hearts content!!! Well, until 11:30pm, then you have to piss off home

Sounds like a party? You can bet your bottom dollar, come Wednesday night the valley will be humming with lovers of good, independent Aussie music. As well as a generous helping of pretentious hipster kids.

The amazing new video for Arcade Fire’s latest single ‘We Used To Wait’ doesn’t exactly follow conventional video clips techniques.

This one uses google maps and satellite images to personalise the HTML5 video’s imagery. You simply type in the address of the town you grew up in and the video will be customised to include satellite images and google street views of your childhood home, adding a little bit of nostalgia to the clip. Multiple pop up windows and even a chance to write a message to be included makes it less of a video and more of an interaction between you and your childhood.

They are more commonly known as Vinyl records. If so, X and Y Bar want you to bring one along on Sunday nights, no matter what style of music it is and they will play it, as long as its on a vinyl record. This is not all! Every week they will nominate a record and if you have or can find this artist on vinyl you will receive a prize.

The first person at X and Y bar with each of these after 8pm and before 11pm will win a $30 bar tab. There will be one prize per record not only this but there is a bonus prize for signed Kamahl Vinyl.

Kristen Bell stars in the disturbingly heartfelt new video from Brooklyn trio, Yeasayer.

The simple plot line revolves around Kristen looking after her sick pet that happens to resemble a giant tumor with eyes and an arm.

It is a weird video but then again so are the previous two videos off their recent album ‘Odd Blood’.
