Single Review: Robbie Miller ‘Sunday’

Words by Scenewave Australia - Published on October 23, 2014

Singer-songwiter, Robbie Miller, brings a humble charm to the table with his new single, Sunday. The Brisbane-based musician was swept into a whirlwind last year, winning the Triple J Unearthed National Indigenous Music Awards, supporting The Paper Kites and gaining national airplay with his track, Don’t Go Walking Away.

Admittedly written about his ‘Nanna’, the genuine and delicate track highlights Miller’s robust and comforting vocals. Backboned by hypnotic and soporific guitar, the track eventually builds with the addition of honeyed vocal layers and simple percussion and  keys.

Delivering subtle hints of The Lumineers and Fleet Foxes, this track is sure to be one to propel Robbie Miller’s beautiful music into the eyes and ears of the nation.

Catch Robbie Miller perform at The Hi-Fi, Brisbane with Emma Louise 25/10/14. Free entry!
